Goat farming is a business that can be done with low cost/capital and very little space. It promotes employment in the rural environment and increases the income of livestock rearers. This business can improve the social and economic status of poor families and unemployed youth. Goat farming promotes the production of milk and meat. Goats are also given the title of ATM because if this business is started after proper training, there is only profit. The government also provides loans through banks to promote goat farming. The state government also gives a large part of the total cost as subsidy, which helps farmers, livestock rearers, and the labor class to take up this business. Goat farming training mainly includes selecting the correct and appropriate breed based on milk/meat, the region's climate, and market demand; managing housing for goats such as a shed on dry land; providing information about adequate nutrition through fodder and feed; regular health care/vaccination; performing AI (Artificial Insemination) in goats; and health care for small offspring, i.e., kids. Goats are very fast in reproduction, have a short gestation period, and a high twin birth rate, which leads to rapid flock growth. Rearing 100 goats can easily yield an estimated annual income of 10 to 12 lakhs. The training duration is merely 6 days. The total cost of this training, including the diploma, is just ₹15,000. Its training is conducted at the AI Innovation Institute in Hisar (Haryana) and Bathinda (Punjab).
The main objective of the Dairy Entrepreneurship Development program is to establish a successful business through milk production, processing, and marketing. Its primary aim is to create self-employment opportunities in rural areas, increase the income of farmers and livestock owners, and strengthen the livestock and dairy industry. The program focuses on selecting high-yielding breeds of milch animals, ensuring balanced feed and proper nutrition, providing regular healthcare and disease control, and adopting modern technologies such as milking machines and milk cooling equipment. It also emphasizes breed improvement through Artificial Insemination (A.I.), efficient dairy farm management using software or registers, and obtaining financial support from banks and cooperative societies. Additionally, participants are encouraged to take advantage of government schemes such as the Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme (DEDS) and the National Gokul Mission to avail subsidies. The program also promotes the production of value-added dairy products such as paneer, ghee, khoya, and cream to earn higher profits through fair market pricing, along with focusing on proper branding and packaging. Through this initiative, farmers and livestock entrepreneurs receive proper training in dairy farming to enhance their skills. The training program lasts for three weeks (21 days) and is conducted by institutions recognized by the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying, and Fisheries, Government of India. These institutions, known as Artificial Insemination Training Institutes (A.I. Innovation Training Institutes), are located in Hisar (Haryana) and Bathinda (Punjab).
This training is provided by an institution recognized by the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries, Government of India. This institution is known across India as the Artificial Insemination Training Institute (A.I. Innovation Training Institute) and is located in Hisar (Haryana) and Bathinda (Punjab). The primary objective of this training is to improve breed quality and enhance reproductive efficiency in livestock. This involves the collection of high-quality bull semen (or "semen/sperm") through a hygienic process, which is then artificially introduced into the reproductive organs of the female animal, whether it is a cow, buffalo, or other livestock. The main purpose of this training is to prepare qualified technicians at the rural level who can provide Artificial Insemination (AI) services to livestock owners. This leads to improvement in animal breeds, an increase in milk production/livestock productivity, and higher income for livestock owners.Under the Government of India's Rashtriya Gokul Mission, this training is primarily run through the MAITRI (Multi-Purpose AI Technician in Rural India) program. The training includes 45 days of Theory and 45 days of Practical knowledge. This training is nothing short of a boon for unemployed youth and livestock owners. After completing this training, new avenues are established in self-employment, private jobs, and government recruitment.
The Para Veterinary Organization, also known as the Artificial Insemination Training Institute, was established in 2015 under the Indian Trust Act, 1882 (Registration No. HSR-380/2015). Its head office is located at #1603, Railway Road, Mehta Nagar, near Old Ideal School, Hisar, Haryana. The organization operates under the name “AI Innovation Training Institute,” which is recognized by the Department of Animal Husbandry, Dairying, and Fisheries, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Government of India, New Delhi–110001. The institute has only two branches in India — the first in Hisar, Haryana, and the second in Bathinda, Punjab. So far, around 10,000 students have been trained at the institute and are now self-employed in various sectors. These trainees work as Animal Health Workers as well as AI Technicians, known as Maitri Workers (Multi-Purpose Artificial Insemination Technicians in Rural India). Many students are also employed in government positions such as Livestock Assistant, Animal Attendant, and Panchayat Animal Servant. The primary objective of the Artificial Insemination Training Institute is to create employment opportunities for unemployed youth in the livestock sector and to bring a revolution in animal husbandry, thereby increasing the income of farmers and livestock owners. The AI Innovation Training Institute is currently recognized as the best training institute in India, attracting students from different states across the country to receive training.
